The Council renewed its restrictive measures in view of the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) by another year, until 12 December 2026.
Altogether, the EU autonomous restrictive measures related to human rights violations, electoral obstruction and for sustaining the armed conflict, instability, and insecurity in the DRC now apply to 31 persons and two entities.
Those designated are subject to an asset freeze and EU citizens and companies are forbidden from making funds available to them. Individuals are additionally subject to a travel ban, which prevents them from entering or transiting through EU member states.
