February 16, 2026
The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has published the outcomes of its February 2026 Plenary in Mexico City, including an update to its list of jurisdictions under increased monitoring (the so-called Grey List). At this meeting, FATF added Kuwait and Papua New Guinea to the Grey List, reflecting their commitment to address strategic weaknesses in their anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing frameworks by working with FATF and regional partners on agreed action plans. No jurisdictions were removed from the Grey List in this update. Countries on the Grey List continue to be subject to enhanced monitoring and are expected to implement reforms within specified timeframes to strengthen AML/CFT measures.
