The European Council prolonged its restrictive measures in view of the situation in Nicaragua by another year, until 15 October 2026.

The restrictive measures that are currently in place apply to 21 persons and 3 entities in total. Those listed are subject to an asset freeze and EU citizens and companies are forbidden from making funds available to them. Natural persons also face a travel ban, that prohibits them from entering or transiting through EU territories.
